Eleos Counseling and Trauma Consultation Services opened in January 2021 with hopes to provide high quality therapy, training, and consultation to the Athens community, throughout the state of Georgia, and beyond. The name Eleos is derived from the Greek goddess of compassion. I believe that healing happens primarily through a compassionate and curious lens and I work to connect with clients and provide a safe and affirming space.

About Eleos Athens

Elizabeth Marston, MSW, LCSW

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in private practice. I am licensed to practice in Georgia and a registered Telehealth provider in Florida. Since 2008, I have professional experience working across settings, including pediatric hospitals, inpatient mental health, inpatient and outpatient substance abuse, and private practice.

I enjoy working with adults of all ages and have specialized in treating the effects of trauma in adults. I am particularly focused on working with those who experienced childhood emotional neglect and trauma due to medical illness, injury, and/or treatment. I use a variety of approaches and value deep thinking, lots of questions, and curiosity about self and others.

Presenting and providing trainings on local and national levels about issues such as attachment, trauma, medical trauma, and emotional regulation gives me an excuse to travel and meet interesting people across different disciplines.

A native of Mississippi, I have a BA in Theatre from Millsaps College and a Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Certificate in Medical Trauma-Informed Care from Xavier University (Cincinnati). I have lived in Georgia since 2010 and am a spouse and parent to two children, one dog, and one cat.
